💡 Be A Light 💡
Welcome to As She Wrote.
I’m Kyra Lashone — writer, behavioral health student, and founder of KyLamoura. Writing has been my first language since I was thirteen years old. It’s how I process, how I breathe, how I find my way back to myself. As She Wrote is the living record of that journey.
My Story
I’m a mother of three, a homeschooler, a poet, and a woman in active pursuit of herself. I was born in Detroit and have called Arizona home for over a decade. I’ve been writing and journaling since age thirteen — through every season, every loss, every breakthrough. This blog is the continuation of that practice, made public.
My work lives at the intersection of self-love, ancestral identity, behavioral health, and civic awareness. I write personal essays, cultural commentary, academic reflections, and poetry. I don’t fit neatly into one lane — and I’ve stopped trying to.
What You’ll Find Here
As She Wrote is home to several ongoing series:
Between the Headlines — monthly cultural and political commentary on the state of us as a people
Notes from a Behavioral Health Student — real-time reflections from my final year pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Health Science
Healing in Postpartum — an honest, holistic look at recovery, identity, and motherhood after birth
Spiritual Reflections — poetry, personal essays, and explorations of faith, ancestry, and self-discovery
Who I Am Beyond the Page
I hold a background in childhood education, special education, and guided therapy — including meaningful work with survivors of sex trafficking. I’m one semester from completing my Bachelor’s in Behavioral Health Science, with prior credentials in Advanced and Basic Behavioral Health Sciences. My academic life and my personal life have never been separate — you’ll see both here.
I’m also the founder of KyLamoura — a self-love and discovery brand rooted in helping people come back to themselves. The poetry book is coming. The community is being built. This site is where it lives in the meantime.
