All For The Sake Of Destiny | Gaia 101

on

It’s been two weeks since I quit my highest-paying job. It hasn’t been a fun break, either. I’ve been lost in the detachment of it all dare I say, a little depressed. This feeling stems from the fear of being unable to maintain business obligations and the “cutesy” things. Even though I know I’ve done it before, this time feels different without the proper balance.

I will admit, though, that this decision made me feel free. Usually, I wouldn’t do something like this, but this is the first time in my life I’ve been in a position to do so. Cheers to being set free and no longer stuck in commitments I would frankly never be ready for. Every other job scarred me with its tactics and the company it kept, but I’ve now learned to never let a place own me again.

This time was different, though. The two weeks felt like just a few days.  A few days filled with distractions, wallowing in self-pity, doom-scrolling, and bad moods. I was hyper-aware of every minute that ticked by, truly regretting all the time I wasted. I’m guilty of being consumed and defeated.

But today is the day I’ve finally come out of that feeling. Today feels like the perfect time to take action the perfect time to begin my Gaia. A spiritual journey where I honor myself and the beautiful Mother Earth.

Gaia symbolizes the personification of the Earth and is considered the mother of all life. She encompasses not only the physical planet but also the life forms that inhabit it. The concept of Gaia in environmental science, particularly through the Gaia Hypothesis, was introduced by scientist James Lovelock. This hypothesis suggests that the Earth functions as a self-regulating, complex system that maintains conditions suitable for life.

To honor Gaia, one can engage in several practices that promote environmental stewardship and a deeper connection to nature, including:

1. Sustainable Living: Adopt eco-friendly practices, such as reducing waste, recycling, conserving water, and using renewable resources.

2. Nature Appreciation: Spend time in nature whether through hiking, gardening, or simply enjoying the outdoors to foster a deeper connection to the Earth.

3. Mindful Consumption: Choose sustainably sourced products and support ethical businesses that prioritize environmental responsibility.

4. Community Involvement: Participate in local environmental initiatives, such as tree planting, clean-up drives, or conservation efforts.

5. Education and Advocacy: Share knowledge about environmental issues and advocate for policies that protect the Earth and its ecosystems.

6. Rituals and Offerings: Engage in personal or communal rituals that express gratitude for the Earth. This could be as simple as offering flowers, lighting candles, or performing a ceremony in nature.

By incorporating these practices into daily life, individuals can honor Gaia and contribute to the well-being of our planet.  With this, intentions need to be set. I will focus on transmuting the poverty/lack mindset and getting closer to the authentic version of myself on this Earth.  I honor Gaia at least once a year for a minimum of 21 days, going deeper within and connecting to the beauty of our dear Earth.
